We get them here in Arizona in the summers, mostly, when we have our version of a monsoon season. This is a perfect example of one. Imagine being caught in this on the freeway. Good times! This one came when I was home and it went from sunny and light out to a darkness equivalent of nighttime in about a half hour. And everything smelled like dirt. Everything.

The Haboob
Haboob. Best word ever! It basically means gigantic freak dust storm which takes over the city and causes chaos wherever it goes. Aside from Arizona, you will only see this in either the Sahara Desert or Middle East. I know this because my co-worker Googled it and you know Google is never wrong.
